It's all the obvious stuff like your logo, your products or services and your team members. But it also includes all the intangible things that make your brand unique. It really starts with defining your customers and clients. Who is your tribe? The more you know about about the WHO, the easier the HOW will be. How THEY perceive your brand is what defines it. And everything your brand does shapes that perception. And in turn your customers will have certain expectations based on their perception. Every interaction your client has with your brand needs to meet those expectations.

So, rather than asking, “What is a brand?” a better question might be, “Who is a brand?” Every brand has a persona. Think of your brand as a person. What is that person like? What can you expect when you interact with that person? From appearance to personality and everything in between, your brand persona is one that consumers will evaluate and judge before they do business with you.
